Richardson (who would have only been 15 at the time). His cause of death was listed as "Phthisis failure of heart action". Phthisis refers to tuberculosis (also known as TB or consumption). The Railton marque was used between 1933 and 1939, so the photos probably date to the 1930's)

The plane appears, from what little we can see of it, to be a Vought F4U Corsair. While this was an American made plane, the (British) Royal Navy did have significant numbers of these. The location is unknown, but Geoff had been stationed at both RAF Milfield (Northumberland) and RAF Fairwood Common (Swansea).)
