Mary's son William (a tailor) was honourably discharged from the Coldstream Guards in 1860, for being unfit for duty, after only serving for 261 days. His discharge reports that he was born in Wroxham, and that he joined at the age of 19 years and 6 months old on the 23rd September 1859.
