Charles Robert Simmonds married the unmarried mother Sarah Chettleburgh, and became the stepfather to William Chettleburgh

Charles never had a standard spelling of his surname, using Simmons, Simmonds, Simmond, Summon, Summons, etc.

Birth

Charles was born around 1808 in Swannington, Norfolk.

Marriage

He married Elizabeth Ribbons on the 22nd November 1829.

  • George "Summons" was baptised on the 2nd May 1830 in Lakenham Norfolk. The parents were Charles and Elizabeth "Summons". Charles's profession was Weaver.

Elizabeth died and was buried in Lakenham on the 20th October 1835, she was only 28 years old.

He married Sarah Chettleburgh on 15th August 1847 at Lakenham.

Children

In 1861 he was the nightwatchman at the Yarn Mill in Old Lakenham.

In 1871 he was living on Lakenham Road in Old Lakenham, next door to The Cock Public House with his wife Sarah.
