Birth
John Box was born in Brighton around 1827.
He was christened in Brighton on the 11th November 1827, his parents were John Box (a Fly Driver) and Lucy Box (née Card). They lived at Super Street in Brighton.
On the night of 6 June 1841 John Box was living with his parents John and Lucy Box at Cheltenham Place, Brighton.
Marriage
John Box married Mary Ann Carey on the 30th May 1846 at Saint Nicolas, Brighton, Sussex. They were both 19 years old and living at 20 Oxford Street. His profession was a Fly Proprietor.
His father was given as John Box (Fly Proprietor), her father was Jesse Carey (deceased), also a Fly Proprietor.
The witnesses were William Shelley and Jane Samphion(?)

On the night of 30 March 1851 he was living with his family at 35 Cheltenham Place, Brighton. His profession was a "Flyman" - a carriage driver, like his late father-in-law. He was listed as a Flyman in the baptisms of his children as well.
On the night of 7 April 1861 he was living with his family at 2 Albion Place, Brighton, his profession is now cab driver (which sounds similar).
On 29th April 1872 his son John Thomas Box was married at St Nicolas' Church, Brighton. His son was living at St Luke's in Chelsea at the time. John Box appeared to still be alive (he wasn't listed as deceased) and his profession was still flyman.
