He was christened in Brighton on the 11th November 1827, his parents were John Box (a Fly Driver) and Lucy Box (née Card). They lived at Super Street in Brighton.

On the night of 6 June 1841 John Box was living with his parents John and Lucy Box at Cheltenham Place, Brighton.

Marriage

John Box married Mary Ann Carey on the 30th May 1846 at Saint Nicolas, Brighton, Sussex. They were both 19 years old and living at 20 Oxford Street. His profession was a Fly Proprietor.
