James Prebble was the father of George Prebble in Lyminge on the 31st October 1773, his wife was called Elisabeth.

Marriage

James Prebble of the parish of Lyminge, married Elizabeth Burch of the parish of St Mary the Virgin, Elham, Kent on the 9th October 1765 (witnesses were James Spratt and Waterman Skinner).


In 1773 John Elgar was apprenticed to James Prebble who was a Cordwainer in Lyminge, Kent. And in 1784 a Thomas Dennis was also apprenticed to him. A Cordwainer makes shoes.

James Prebble, living in Lyminge) was buried in Lyminge on the 30th February 1814. He was 78 years old.
