Birth
Sarah Jane Box was born around 1851 in Brighton, her parents were John Box and Mary Ann Box nee Carey.
She was christened on the 22nd October 1851 at Chapel Royal, Brighton, Sussex, England her parents were given as John Box and Mary Ann Box
On the night of 7 April 1861 she was living with her parents at 2 Albion Place, Brighton.
On the night of the 2nd April 1871 she was living with her grandmother, Sarah Carey, at 18 Hannover Street, Brighton.
Marriage
Sarah Jane Box married Alfred Walter Wells on the 24th March 1872 at Saint Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex. Alfred was 23, and his father was John Wells. Sarah Jane was 21 and her father was given as John Box.
Children
On September the 21st in 1872 she gave birth to Mary Ann Minnie Wells while she was living at 17 White Cross Street, Brighton.

In 1881 Sarah is living with her family at 36 Kensington Place, Brighton.
In 1891 they have moved to 84 Trafalgar Street in Brighton, where she was recorded as being a dealer in paper hangings and possibly a milliner.
