Alfred Walter Wells was the father of Mary Ann Minnie Wells.
He was born around 1851.
Birth
One Alfred Walter Wells was baptised on the 13th July 1851, his father was John Wells, and his mother was Ann Coleman.
Another Alfred Wells was christened on the 8th June 1851 in Brighton, father Thomas Wells, and mother Eliza.
Marriage
He married someone called Sarah Jane in around 1872 (according to the 1911 census). Her maiden name is likely to be Box.
In 1881 he is living with his family at 36 Kensington Place, Brighton. He was 30 and a grainer. I believe a grainer was someone who painted simulation wood grain effects (one step up from a decorator, and two steps up from a painter).
In 1891 he is living with his family (including Minnie) at 84 Trafalgar Street in Brighton, his wife was a dealer in paper hangings and possibly a milliner. He was 40 and a grainer, decorator and painter.
Children
- Mary Ann Minnie Wells (1872)
In 1911 he is living with his wife Sarah Jane, and his son Sydney, and grand-daughter Gwenyth at 193 Ditchling Rise, Brighton. He is now an employer in the decorating business.
