In the name of God Amen.

I Jasper Taylor of St Andres Holborn Citizen and Clockmaker of London being of sound mind and memory and understanding praised to god for the same do make this my Last will and testament in manner and form following first and afore all things and command my soul into the hands of Almighty God trusting to be saved through the slow? merits of our saviour Jesus Christ and my body to be decently buried at the instruction of my Executors herein after named and as to the worldly estate and effects which it hath pleased God in his Mercy to bestow upon me I will give devise and bequeath the same in manner following first I will that all my first debts and funeral charges be fully paid and satisfied and I do direct that the costs and expenses attendant on my being admitted to the copyhold estates descended to me upon the death of my late nephew Elliot Taylor deceased and ???ndering the sauce? to the ??? of my will if not paid and satisfied by me in my life time) and also that the ??? expenses which shall or may be attendant upon the ??? of such of my children as non my death shall be intitled to the said copyhold promises by virtue of this my will be severally wholly paid and satisfied out of my estate and effects and I give devise and bequeath unto my eldest son the ??? Mr Thomas Taylor the messuage or tenement ffarm and lands and all Appurtements there unto belonging situate at Allens Green in the parish of Sabridgeworth in the County of Hertford and now in the Tenure and ocupation of John Springham at and under the yearly rent of seventy three pounds as the same is now in the tenure of the said John Springham (not only the freehold but also the copyhold parts thereof if any such therebe) and also a cottage or tenement at Allen's Green aforesaid no or late in the tenure or occupation of Stysham? Landgail at and under the yearly rent of one pound and ten shillings with all appurtaments there lying (not only the freehold but also the copyhold parts thersof if any such thereby to have and to hold the same unto my said son Thomas Taylor his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him my said son his heirs and assigns for ever subject nevertheless to and charged and chargeable with the two several annuities or clear yearly sums of twenty five pounds and five pounds most herein after mentioned (that is to say) an annuity of clear yearly sum of twenty five pounds unto his sister Catherine Deverall widow for and during the term of her natural life to be paid by half yearly payments (that is to say) at Lady Day and Michaelmas Day in every year the first payment thereof to be made on the second of the said days which shall first appear next after my death into the proper hands of his said sister exclusive of any husband with whom she may intermarry to and for her sole and separate use exclusive of such husband and not to be subject to his debts or control and her receipt from time to time to be a sufficient discharge for the same and to anothe Annuity or clear yearly sum of five pounds iunto Anthony Marsh? Citizen and Clock maker of London for an during the term of his natural life to be paid by like half yearly payments in manner aforesaid and the first payment to be made at the time herein before summitted for the payment of the said other Annuity of Twenty Five pounds a year.

I also give devise and bequeth unto my said Son Thomas Taylor his heirs and assigns for ever the ??? presemtation of the living of Great Parndon in the county of Essex and the third perpituity thereof I also give to my said son Thomas Taylor the capital sum of two hundred pounds ??? Bank Annutities.

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my second son Elliot Taylor the messuage or tenement farm and lands and all appurtements there upon belonging situate at or near Hollingbury in the said county of Essex and now in the tenure and occupation of James Quiltor at and under the yearly rent of Sixty Eight pounds as the same as now in the tenure of the said James Quilton (not only the freehold but also the copyhold parts thereof if any such therby to have and to hold the same unto my said son Elliot Taylor his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him my said son his heirs and assigns for ever subject nevertheless to and charged and chargeable with the two several annuities or clear yearly sums of twenty five pounds and five pounds next herein after mentioned (that is to say) an annuity of clear yearly sum of twenty five pounds unto his sister Elizabeth Bunsfield for and during the term of her natural life to be paid by half yearly payments (that is to say) at Lady Day and Michaelmass day in every year the first payment thereof to be made on the second of the said days which shall first happen next after my death into the proper hands of his said sister exclusive of her present or any future husband to and for her sole and separate use exclusive of such husband and not to be subject to his debts or control and her receipt from time to time to be a sufficient discharge for the same and to a further annuity or clear yearly sum of five pounds unto the before names Anthony March for and during the term of his natural life to be paid by like half yearly payments andthe first payment to be made at the time before submitted for payment of the last mentioned annuity if Twenty five pounds a year.

I also give to my said son Elliot Taylor the capital sum of two hundred pounds consolidated? Bank Annuities.

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my third son Jasper Taylor the messuage tenement of farm and lands and all appurtenances there unto belonging situate at or near Hunsdon in the said in the said county of Hertford and now in the tenure of occupation of William May at and under the yearly rent of forty pounds as the same as now in the tenure of the said William Ray/May (not only the freehold but also the copyhold parts thereof if any such there be) and also the small coppice or spring of wood at or near Hunsdon aforesaid now in hand and munterented? and also the messuage or Cottage at or near Hunsdon aforesaid with all appurtenances there unto belonging and now in the tenure or occupation of Ann Reeve of and under the yearly rent of two pounds five shillings as the same is now in the tenure of the said Ann Reeve and likewise the messuage or tenement farm and lands and all appurtanences there unto belonging situate at or near Sabridgeworth aforesaid and ?? Groves and now in the tenure and occupation of Daniel Gladwin at and under the yearly rent of twenty four pounds as the same is now in the tenure of the said Daniel Gladwin (not only the freehold but also the copyhold parts thereof if any such therebe) To have and to hold the same unto my said son Jasper Taylor his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him my said son his heirs and assigns for ever subject nevertheless to and charged and chargeable with all annuity or clear yearly sum of twenty five pounds unto his sister Ann Taylor for and during the term of her natural life to be paid by half yearly payments (that is to say) at Lady Day and Michaelmas day in every year the first payment thereof to be made on the second of the said days which shall first happen next after my death into the proper hands of his said sister exclusive of any husband with whom she may intermarry and not to be subject to his debts or control and he receipt from time to time to be a sufficient discharge for the same.

I also give to my said son Jasper Taylor the capital sum of two hundred pounds ???red Bank Annuities.

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my fourth son Sammuel Taylor the messuage or tenement farm and lands and all appurtenances there upon belonging situate at or near Eastwick and County of Hertford and now in the tenure or occupation of John Foster at and under the yearly rent of thirty six pounds as the same is now in the tenure of the said John Foster (not only the freehold but also the copyhold parts thereof if any such there be) and also the messuage or tenement farm and lands and all appurtenances there unto belonging situate or near Sabridgeworth aforesaid and now in the tenure or occupation of Daniel Linsell at and under the yearly rent of thirty pounds as the same is now in the tenure of the said Daniel Linsell not only the freehold but also the copyhold parts thereof if any such there be to have and to hold the same unto my said son Samuel taylor his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him my said son his heirs and assigns for ever subject nevertheless to and charged and chargeable with an annuity or clear yearly sum of twenty five pounds unto his sister Mary Taylor for and during the term of her natural life to be paid by half yearly payments (that is to say) at Lady Day and Michaelmass Day in every year the first payment thersof to be made on the second of the said Days which shall first happen next after my death into the proper hands of his said sister exclusive of any husband with who she may intermarry and not to be subject to his debts or control and her receipt from time to time to be a sufficient discharge for the same.

I also five to my said son Samuel Taylor the capital sum of five hundred pounds of South Sea Annuities.

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my youngest son George Elliott Taylor the messuage or tenement farm and lands and all appurtenances there unto belonging situate at or new Sabridgeworth aforesaid lately in the tenure or occupation of Joseph Tarlin at and under the yearly rent of sizteen pounds and now in the trnure of the before names Daniel Linsell (exclusive of his before mentioned farm of thirty pounds a year) at and under the like yearly rent of sixteen pounds as the same is now in the tenure of the said Daniel Linsell not only the freehold but also the copyhold parts thereof if any which there be together with all and every other my freehold and copyhold estates in the counties of Hertford and Essex or either of them not herein before devised if any such there be and also my freehold messuage or tenement situate and being corner of Fetter Lane in Holborn to have and to hold the same unto my said son George Elliot Taylor his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him my said son his heirs and assigns for ever.

I also give to my said son George Elliot Taylor the capital sum of five hundred pounds four per cent Bank Annuities and I so will that the dividends therefo during his minority shall be ???ed by my executors and be applyed in buying him clothes and other necessarrys and ronvouinties? but in case of his death before his age of twenty one years my will is that the said five hundred pounds four per cent bank annuities shall go to and be divided equally amongst my then surviving children share and share alike.

Item I give unto my daughter Rachel? the capital sum of five hundred pounds Old South Sea Annuitites.

Item I give unto my daughter Deverell the capital sum of four hundred pounds now? South Sea Annuities.

Item I give to my daughter Bunsfield the capital sum of two hundred and fifty pounds now? South Sea Annuities.

Item I give unto my daughters Ann and Mary each the capital sum of four hundred pounds now South Sea Annuities and I do will that the repective dividends thereof during their minority shall be received by my executors and be applyed to buy them clothes and other moressarys? and conveniences but in case of the death of both or either of my two last named daughters before their respective ages of twenty one years or marriage my will is that both or either of the said last capital sums of four hundred pounds nw? South Sea Annuities (as the case may happen) shall go to and be divided equally amoungst my then surviving children share and share alike.

And I give unto the Charity Schools belonging to St. Andrews Holborn twenty pounds. Unto the poor pensioners of the Clockmakers Company ten pounds to be paid to the Router? warden at Christmas next after my decease and I give unto all and every my children ten pounds a piece for mourning and I give unto my servant Elizabeth Cole ten pounds all the rest and residue of my estate and effects I give devise and bequeath unto my said children to be equally divided between them share and share alike and I do nominate constitute and appoint my said three eldest sons Thomas Taylor, Elliot Taylor and Jasper Taylor joint executors of this my will and Trustees and Guardians of my infant sons and daughters and I do hereby disannull revoke and make void all other and former wills by me made In witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament contained in this and the three preceding sheets of paper set my hand and affixed my seal to oath shore thereof this third day of March One thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Jasper Taylor signed sealed published and declared by Jasper Taylor the testator above named as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereunto - Rich'd Pigot, Benjin Waterhouse, Rich'd Thurston.
