Sarah Jane Box was the mother of Mary Ann Minnie Wells.

Birth

She was born around 1852 in Brighton.

Her parents were John Box and Mary Ann Box nee Carey.

On the night of 7 April 1861 she was living with her parents at 2 Albion Place, Brighton.

On the night of the 2nd April 1871 she was living with her grandmother, Sarah Coney?, at 18 Hannover Street, Brighton.

On September the 21st in 1872 she gave birth to Mary Ann Minnie Wells while she was living at 17 White Cross Street, Brighton.

In 1881 Sarah is living with her family at 36 Kensington Place, Brighton.


In 1891 they have moved to 84 Trafalgar Street in Brighton, where she was recorded as being a dealer in paper hangings and possibly a milliner.
