Wyndham George Carter was born on the 14th March 1885 at Kennington in Kent (his entry of death says 14th March 1884 - as does the 1939 register). He was baptised on the 24th May 1885.

In 1891 he was 6 years old, and living with his parents in Adisham, Kent, just two houses away from the Bull's Head.
In 1901 he was 16 years old, a carter on a farm, still living with his parents in Adisham, Kent.
He married Mabel Fox.
His name is spelt differently in virtually every official document, but Wyndham is how it is spelt on his register entry of birth. Whyndon is one variation on his marriage certificate!
For some reason I initially called him by his middle name (George), so perhaps this is what he was known by.
He married Mabel Louisa Agnes Fox on the 12th January 1910 at the register office.

They had at least seven children together:
- Thomas Frederick Carter (born circa 1910, Bridge, Kent) (some sort of mystery here - he wasn't around, not talked about)
- Margaret Elizabeth Carter (born 17th October 1912) (Maggie)
- Doris J. Carter (born circa 1914, Bridge, Kent)
- Kathleen M. Carter (born circa 1916, Bridge, Kent) (Cathy)
- Violet M. Carter (born circa 1918, Bridge, Kent) (Auntie Vi)
- Winifred A. Carter (born circa 1920, Bridge, Kent)
- Eve Carter (born 15th May 1923, Bridge, Kent)
In 1911 he was 26 years old, now living with his wife of one year in Kingstone, Kent, he has a son Thomas. His sister-in-law is a visitor with three children. His house has five rooms.
In 1939 he was living at "The Bungalow", Black Robin Lane, Bridge-Blean, Kent. The residents in the house were:
- Margaret E. Carlisle, born 17th October 1912, unpaid domestic duties.
- closed record (person born after 1914)
- Mabel L. A. Carter, born 1st April 1886, unpaid domestic duties
- George W. Carter (Whyndam George), born 14th March 1884, Cowman and Acting Special Constable (Kent)
Their house was next door to the post office at the time, which was next door to "The Black Robin"..
When he was older and a widower he used to take turns in staying with his daughters.
One Margaret E Carter married a Mr Carlisle in Q3 1931, so Margaret Carlisle is possibly Whyndam and Mabel's daughter.
George died on the 17th November 1972 at Kingston in Kent (listed as Wynn Thomas George).
The index says: Whyndam George Carter born 14th March 1884, death registered in Oct/Nov/Dec 1972 in Thanet Vol 5F, page 1793.

In 1890-5 he was still registered to vote in Kennington, but his address was now 93, Saint George's Square, London, SW. His property in Kennington was Kennington Hall, Kennington Cottage and other houses and land, situated at Kennington, near Ashford, Kent.
