Marriage

William Francis married Martha Diggens on the 6th November 1783 at Nuffield.

The banns were read out in Nuffield for William Francis and Martha Digens (both of this parish) on the Sundays of 12, 19th and 26th October 1783.

Note that unlike the rector, Martha wrote her name Diggins, not Diggens, and John Frances wrote it Frances, not Francis. However, William did spell Francis with an 'i'. By 1784 John Francis had changed to signing his name with an 'i' also (he was quite regularly a witness from 1765 onwards).

Death

William Francis was buried in Nuffield on 29th April 1828 at age 73.
