William Allfrey was born on the 10th August 1845 in Clayton in Sussex, his father was also called William Allfrey and his mother was Sarah (born circa 1832 in Chorley, Sussex).
I have taken a shortcut with William, and much of the information about him is taken from Mandy Willard's page about him.

In 1861 he was 15 years old, and living in West Street, Clayton in Sussex with his parents, where he was a brick labourer (his father was a brick layer).
== Birth ==
William Allfrey (senior) was born in around 1821-1822 in Keymer or Clayton, both in Sussex.

On the 3rd October 1864 he married Charlotte Sarah Nash in Brighton, Sussex.
== Marriages ==
William married three times. Most important to us was his first marriage to Audrey Sheppard (née Vincent)

In 1871 he was 25 years old and living with his wife Charlotte at No. 2 Prospect Cottages in Clayton. He was a bricklayer, and plasterer (and possibly something else, maybe a cow keeper? as the census is unclear). By this time they had four children, Ann Martha, William Henry, Catherine Mary, and Minnie Caroline.
He married Sarah (born in Chorley, Sussex in around 1832).

He moved from Clayton to Brighton in around 1876, and by 1881 William was living at  36 Russell St in Brighton, and he was still was a bricklayer, but now he had nine children, Annie, William, Catherine, Philip, Ernest, Alfred, Fanny, Charles and Lilian.
In 1861 he was living in West Street, Clayton, Sussex with his wife Sarah and three children: William, George and Frank. His profession was a bricklayer (not a brick labourer!).

William Allfrey died on the 25th September 1907, aged 63 in Henfield, Sussex.
