1871 - Westoe - Charles J. Watson

On the night of 2 April 1871 Charles J. Watson is living with his mother and two brothers in Westoe, South Shields.

And also on the night of 2 April 1871, a few doors away at 122 Elden. Street, Westoe, lived Jane's mother Mary Ann Collett, now a widow for the second time as Mary A. Robson.

1880 - Washington State - Charles Watson

In the 1880 US census, Charles Watson (senior) is visiting America - or at least a Charles Watson, born ~1836 in Sweden, is registered at Port Gamble on the Kitsap peninsula in Washington State (high on the West Coast). I haven't got all the details for this though - just the summary.

On the night of 3 April 1881, both Charles J. Watson and his father Charles Watson, are living at 156 Eldon St. His brother Frederick looks more like a Frednell though.

Whilst the family of his son, Charles J. Watson (junior) is living at 14 Belle Vue Crescent, South Shields. Including his three children, Robert Watson, his sister Florence, and his brother Harley (the family had mentioned an uncle Harley so this is known to be the correct entry.
