Her husband Jesse Carey was buried on the 15th July 1843 at Brighton. He was only 43 years old.

Other Records

The baptism record could be the right Sarah Knight, however there might be other Sarah Knights in the area that we have to discount first. For example a Sarah Knight married a Henry Napper in Horsham on the 13th November 1833. No parents were listed, but one of the witnesses was an Eleanor Knight. The 1841 census puts this couple in Rudgwick (just outside Horsham) - he is listed as 30, she as 25 - this would make her birth year 1816±5. Both born in Sussex. Children are Frederick, Harriett, and Ann. By 1851 Sarah Napper has died, and her husband and daughter Ann are servants in Capel, Surrey. So we're not going to find out any more information about that Sarah Knight from later censuses, but her age in the 1841 census rules her out from being the Sarah Knight baptised in 1803.
