  • Robert, 4th Son of John Harley, Labourer & Anne his wife, late Dobson, of this parish (Long Newton) was both January 29th & Christened June 17th, 1798.
  • George 6th son of John Harley, Labourer & Ann his wife late Dobson of this parish (Long Newton) was born May 13, 1800 & Christened August 24th 1800.
  • Elizabeth, 3rd Daughter of John Harley & Anne his wife, late Dobson, of this parish was born April 24 1803 & Christened October 9th 1803.

Death

John Harley of Long Newton, was buried at Long Newton, Durham, England on the 26th January 1837. He was 97 years old (putting his year of birth around 1740). This would put his marriage to be at the age of 45, which is a bit old. Possibly this burial could be John Harley's father, or this was a second marriage.

  • The parish church of Long Newton was being rebuilt in 1807, so there could be no marriages there.
  • Elizabeth Harley (potentially John's daughter) was buried in Long Newton on the 25th April 1869, aged 65. If this was his daughter then she died unmarried.
  • George Harley (probably John's son) was buried in Long Newton on the 12th October 1854. he was 54 years old.
  • Ann Harley, aged 69, was buried on the 3rd July 1830 at Long Newton.
  • Thomas Harley was born to Ann Harley (spinster) on the 3rd December 1822 at Long Newton.
  • Thomas Harley was buried in Long Newton on 26th July 1840, aged 17 years.
