He was born on the 25th September 1796 in Wymondham in Norfolk, England.

  Isaac son of William and Ann Bartram was born Sept. 25th and baptised 26 September 1796

Marriage

Issac married Phoebe Gay on the 8th November 1818, 25th October 1818 in Wymondham, Norfolk.

One of the witnesses was a John Gay. The next day John Gay was married to Mary Thrower, and Phebe Gay was one of the witnesses!

Interestingly many of their children were baptized twice, once at the Lakenham Chapel (Primitive Methodists) and once at Wymondham. Some of the dates don't quite match with the later census, either the ages were calculated wrongly (highly possible) or some of their children died and the names were reused.

On the 6th January 1836 an Isaac Bartram was tried for "Larceny before convicted of Felony" at the County Sessions in Norwich. His age was given as 37, which would put his date of birth around 1799. Luckily for the family he was found "Not Guilty"!

  charged on the oath of James Neave, of Wymondham, yeoman, and another, with having, 
  on Monday the 21st of this month, stolen a quantity of hay, the property of Thomas Bayley, Esq

Although it looks like he had been convicted of an earlier charge:

  Isaac Bartram, aged 27, Committed December 27, 1825, by J. Postle, Esq. and Rev. G. Preston, Clk. 
  charged on the oth of Samuel Blyth, of Wymondham, on suspicioun of having stolen, about 12 months ago, a mattock and a marl pick, his property. (1 week H £)

On the night of 6 June 1841 he was living with his family at Mill Street in the Hamlet of Lakenham, Norwich, next door to his daughter Elizabeth who had married John Smith

On the night of 30 March 1851 he and his wife Phoebe Bartram nee Gay were living at No. 6, Trafalgar Street, Lakenham, Norwich.

Julian daughter of Ann Bartram Spinster was born Nov 11 and baptised 22 November 1795.
