Birth

Annie Elizabeth Stoppard was born on 27th August 1863 at Oxford Street, Chorlton-upon-Medlock, to David Stoppard and Martha Handforth (Provision Dealers). She was Christened on the 23rd September 1863 at St. Saviours, Manchester, Lancashire.

In 1871 her family was living at 134 Wilmslow Road, Withington, Lancashire.

Come 1881, the family had moved to Stockport Road, Cheadle, Cheshire, which was her mother's original hometown. Her father was a Shopkeeper/Grocer and Annie and her brother probably worked for their father (both being Grocer's Assistants).

Marriage

On the 14th September 1887 she married William Churm.

Children

They had 6 children:

  • Richard Oscar Churm
  • William Stanley Churm
  • Ethel Handforth Churm
  • Victoria Ida Churm
  • Jessie Louisa Churm
  • Winifred Annie Churm.

By 1891 they have their own house at 24 Alexandra Grove, Chorlton-on-Medlock where she lived with William and their first two children, Richard (1 year old) and newborn William.

By 1901 the family has moved to 65 Palatine Road, Northenden, Manchester, Cheshire. William Stanley Churm was registered in the March quarter of 1891 in the district of Chorlton, Lancashire (volume 8c, page 883) and subsequently died in the September quarter of 1894 in the district of Altrincham in Cheshire (volume 8a, page 102). He would have been 3 years old.

Death

She died, aged 79, on the 11th March 1943.
