Aaron Stoppard was the father of Aaron Stoppard, and he was a tailor from Crich in Derbyshire.

Marriage

Aaron Stoppard (of Crich) married Elizabeth Stocks (of Crich) by banns on the 13th October 1779 at Crich. The witnesses were John Ride and James Fritchley. No other information was recorded.

Aaron's will mentions four children, Moses Stoppard, Aaron Stoppard, Hannah White, and Elizabeth Stoppard.

Death

Aaron wrote his last will on the 20th February 1813, he died a month later on the 28th March 1813, and probate was read on th e21st April 1813.

States:

This is the last Will and Testament of me Aaron Stoppard of Crich in the County of Derby Tailor made published and declared this twentieth Day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand and Eight Hundred and thirteen. 

In the first place I will that all my first Debts and funeral Expenses be paid and discharged by my Executor and Executrix hereafter named out of my personal Estate. My pocket Watch I give to my Wife Elizabeth Stoppard for her life and at her Death I give the same unto my Grandson Aaron Stoppard Son of my Son Aaron Stoppard should my said grandson be then living and should he not be then living I will and direct that my said Wife shall give and dispose of my said Watch as she thinks most proper. 

All my Real Estate and the rest and residue of my personal Estate of what nature kind or quantity soever and wheresoever found at the time of my Death with their and every of their rights members and Appurtenances I give an grant to my said Wife for and during the Term of her natural life and at her Death I give and devise my said Real Estate with the appurtenances unto my Son Moses Stoppard his Heirs and Assigns for ever he paying thereout immediately unto my said Son Aaron Stoppard the sum of forty pounds of lawful English Money. And as to my personal Estate at the Death of my said Wife I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my two Daughters Hannah White and Elizabeth Stoppard their Executors Administrators and assigns for ever equal share and share alike.
 
And Lastly I do hereby nominate constituted and appoint my said Wife and my said two Sons Moses and Aaron joint Executors and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former or other Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this to be my Last Will and Testament In Witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

Signed Sealed published and Declared by the said Aaron Stoppard the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of one another have subscribed out names as Witnesses.
